Telehealth Appointments via Telemedicine


We are excited about the opportunity to offer telehealth appointments to our patients via telemedicine. If you want to discuss your neurosurgical brain or spine condition, call us today!

To schedule your telehealth appointment, fill out the form here. Or, call (720) 386-4508 to speak to our team. They will get you scheduled to see one of our providers and walk you through the telemedicine process.

The practice will email you a link for your appointment before you are scheduled to meet your provider for your neurosurgery telehealth visit. You will need to install and set up Zoom before your appointment.

Getting Started for Patients

  1. Use a computer or device with camera/microphone and install the Zoom app.
  2. You will either need to sign in to your Zoom account or create an account. If this is your first time using Zoom, click Sign Up to create your account.

Once your account has been created, you will be able to join your provider in a Zoom Video Call.

  1. You will receive a text invitation from your provider 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Tap or click the link you receive and Zoom will launch.

  1. Your provider will start your visit.

Patient Visit Etiquette for Telehealth

  • Take the virtual clinic visit in a quiet room and private environment to ensure sensitive information is not shared with unauthorized people.
  • Make sure you are in a well lit room so the provider can clearly see you.
  • Wear the same attire you would wear to an in-person clinic visit.
  • Please refrain from eating and drinking during the visit.

Visit Protocol for Patients

  • Review and fill out all paperwork sent to you via IntakeQ.com and submit prior to your appointment.
  • Test your Zoom account and access to make sure you are ready for the visit.
  • Be prepared to receive your text visit invitation from the provider 5 minutes prior to your visit time.
  • Prepare a list of questions for your provider to have ready for your visit.
  • Be ready to discuss their recent imaging, surgeries, current medications, medical history.

Uploading Imaging

  • CarePoint Neurosurgery has access to many local imaging databases. If it is determined that we do not have access to your imaging you will be asked to download your imaging prior to your appointment.
  • Please note that we do not need imaging that is greater than 6 months old.
  • If you are asked to download images prior to your appointment, please follow below instructions:
  1. Obtain CD from imaging facility if you do not already have one.
  2. Insert disc into your computer.

FAQ for Patient Telehealth Clinic Visits

  1. What is a telehealth visit?
    A telehealth visit is a clinic visit conducted via phone call or on camera. A telehealth visit will be formatted just like an in person visit. The provider will assess you, discuss your concerns with you, and answer your questions.
  2. What technology will be used?
    CarePoint Neurosurgery utilizes Zoom for direct to consumer telehealth visits. This is an app that can easily be accessed on your computer or downloaded to your mobile device.
  3. How long will the visit last?
    A typical visit can last anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on your visit type (follow up visit, post surgical visit, or a new patient visit).
  4. How much does the visit cost and will you bill my insurance?
    We will work with your insurance company to try to have them cover the cost of a telehealth visit just as they would similar for an in person visit.
  5. Will I still see a doctor or a physician assistant?
    All of our providers are conducting telehealth visits, and you will be scheduled with a physician or a physician assistant. You will know which provider you are scheduled to see in advance of your appointment.
  6. Is the visit secure?
    Zoom is a HIPAA secured platform that is approved to conduct telehealth visits.
  7. Can the provider still send in orders and testing?
    Yes, our providers are still able to submit orders for testing and imaging, just as we would for an in person visit.
  8. What if I don’t have health insurance?
    We will work with you to bill you a flat rate for your visit which will be discussed in advance of your virtual visit.
