He developed an interest in cognitive neuroscience, and his research was published in leading journals including, Nature, Cerebral Cortex, and The Journal of Neuroscience

Dr. Mian completed his residency in neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and his fellowship at Emory University. His subspecialty training includes a variety of minimally invasive techniques, including robot-guided neurosurgery, laser interstitial thermal therapy, and MRI-guided focused ultrasound. 

Dr. Mian was raised in Michigan and North Carolina. He recently migrated out to Denver seeking the sunshine and outdoor offerings of the Rocky Mountains. In his free time, Dr. Mian enjoys scuba diving, bicycle touring, photography, and hiking. He is currently the Director of Functional Neurosurgery and Epilepsy Surgery at Swedish Medical Center in Colorado.
