About Brent Kimball, MD

Dr. Kimball received his Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and his Doctor of Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency at the University of Tennessee Health and Science Center and went on to complete his fellowship training in spinal oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He completed another fellowship in orthopaedic spine surgery at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

His thoughtful nature and support to the patient and their families help them heal and provides them with a sense of assurance. Dr. Kimball provides a sense of integrity, reliability, and sincerity to each of his patients. He dedicates time to each patient to discuss their specific condition and treatment options, making sure they have an understanding of what to expect.

Dr. Kimball was selected to participate in The SMART C IDE study due to his extensive experience and passion for motion-preserving surgery. He is also one of the first doctors in Colorado to use The XVISION Spine System by Augmedics, the first and only Augmented Reality guidance system FDA cleared for surgery. This advances spine care by enabling surgeons to see through patients’ skin and tissue as if they have “x-ray vision” during spinal fusion procedures.

Dr. Kimball is an active member of the community and volunteers with coaching and instructing youth. He is an active member of the Boy Scouts of America. While not at work, Dr. Kimball enjoys spending time with his wife and six children, traveling, and participating in all of the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. As an avid proponent of motion preservation, Dr. Kimball himself is a keen outdoorsman who enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, water skiing, and scuba diving. He has participated in several triathlons in the past.
