Pediatric and Adult Neurosurgeon

We are looking for a Pediatric/Adult Neurosurgeon to join our team in Denver, Colorado.

Required: Neurosurgery fellowship after residency

General Neurosurgeon, Spine Focus

We are looking for a complex spine neurosurgeon with training in spinal deformity (T2-pelvis) and interest in building a spinal deformity program. Successful candidate will build a robust spine and spinal deformity practice throughout the community, but also do general neurosurgery and take trauma call at Swedish Medical Center.

Required: Spine fellowship after residency

Surgery Scheduler

Position Summary: Facilitates patient access to ambulatory and surgical services and care providers. Schedules patient appointments for visits, diagnostic tests, referrals and/or consults, and any surgical procedures. Will be responsible for obtaining referral and/or insurance authorization/pre-certification approvals from health plan or primary care physician office. Documents patient calls via electronic medical record phone notes. Financial responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: verifying guarantor information and collection of any monies due at the time of service. Provides efficient flow of clinical information via paper and electronic medical records. Works closely with patients, providers, and hospital facilities.

Position Requirements:

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: None
  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Experience: Previous neurosurgery scheduling experience preferred or 3 years surgery scheduling/prior authorization experience required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires effective customer relation skills, ability to organize and interpret data. Requires good judgment, tact, diplomacy, and ability to problem solve. Able to work effectively in a team environment. Able to use a personal computer and related software

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contact insurance carriers to verify patient's insurance eligibility, benefits and requirements.
  • Request, track and obtain pre-authorization from insurance carriers within time allotted for medical services.
  • Request, follow up and secure prior-authorizations prior to services being performed.
  • Schedule patients for surgery, completing appropriate facility paperwork.
  • Schedule patients for any required diagnostic tests prior to surgery (for example bone scan, MRI, CT, EMG/NS).
  • Review patient medications and health history to determine pre-admission testing.
  • Schedule appropriate medical and cardiac clearances.
  • Schedule patient for follow-up appointments and tests.
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology, high proficiency of general medical office procedures including HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate any insurance changes or trends among team.
  • Maintains a level of productivity suitable for the department.
  • Clearly document all communications and contacts with providers and personnel in standardized documentation requirements, including proper format.
  • Escort patients to rooms, obtain vitals, perform check-in and check-out duties
  • Other duties as assigned.

Clinic Lead - Neurosurgery

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for daily clinic operations and staffing including medical assistants, medical receptionists, patient care coordinators, surgery schedulers, scribes, and others. This position reports to the Service Line Manager and works collaboratively with service line leadership. This position requires a positive, encouraging attitude and the ability to think critically, give staff feedback, handle multiple tasks at the same time, and the ability to have difficult conversations.

Position Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a physician practice
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a lead role or higher
  • Intermediate knowledge of basic clinic function and flow

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a resource to staff to ensure they have the support, resources, and training they need to do their job successfully
  • Work collaboratively with practice leadership to set a positive, collaborative culture within the practice
  • Ensure staff are appropriately trained
  • Maintain daily and monthly reports
  • Participate in staff meetings

Medical Assistant - Neurosurgery (Denver)

Job Description

The Medical Assistant will support the CarePoint Neurosurgery division. The position is responsible for scheduling appointments, pre-appointment testing, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and any necessary records prior to the patient appointment.

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • MA Degree/Certification preferred; High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assisting experience in a busy physician office

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers and payors
  • The ability to multitask

Job Responsibilities:

  • Taking medical histories and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examination
