Coflex™ is a non fusion procedure that is sometimes used for indirect decompression. Essentially, decompression surgery is utilized to take pressure off the nerves, sometimes with the addition of an interspinous spacer or Coflex™. This holds the spinous processes apart and provides indirect decompression off the nerve roots which will help alleviate the leg pain.
